Sport Nutrition Research Oversight

Edited by the PINES education officers
Floris Wardenaar, PhD and Enette Larson-Meyer, PhD, RD, FACSM

The purpose of creating a biannual Sport Nutrition Student Research Proceedings publication is to increase the dissemination of undergraduate and graduate-level research with a wider audience. Not all members of PINES have equal access to peer-reviewed publications through journals that are not open-access. In order to help bridge this gap between research and application, announcements will be sent through PINES communication channels to submit abstracts written by PhD, MS, BS or honors students within universities with which PINES members are affiliated. These abstracts will be shared with members as a PDF file. Simultaneously, the officers would like to evaluate how members rate this initiative that intends to close the gap between the time of completing the research and the results becoming available through publication. The officers believe that this is a relatively easy way to facilitate members informing each other about their work, thereby making research results available early to the sports nutrition community worldwide.
