EDUCATION IN SPORTS NUTRITION
PINES recognizes a number of programs of study that offer evidence-based training in sports nutrition for qualified professionals. the programs may be longer term or short courses.
To continue its commitment to improving the knowledge and practice of sports nutrition, worldwide, the Medical Commission of the IOC now offers a postgraduate-level program in Sport and Exercise Nutrition. This program is aimed at sports nutrition professionals who work closely with athletes and coaches to enhance their nutrition.
The IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition focuses on the nutritional implications of participation in structured sports activities, but will also consider the role of physical activity, nutrition and other lifestyle factors in promoting good health. Experts in the study and practice of sports nutrition from around the world are involved in the provision of material to the course, and will be made available to students via “online chats” and residential workshops.

100% online via Canvas, Duration of 12–18 months (part-time), course access up to ~80 weeks.
Credits 120 credits (EQF Level 7).
A nationally (and internationally) respected professional development program designed for credentialed dietitians aiming to specialise in sports nutrition.
Completion is a key requirement to become an Accredited Sports Dietitian with SDA.
Fully online: 13 weeks, with weekly group Zoom sessions and one 1‑on‑1 mentor meeting. Mix of self-paced modules, live interactive webinars, mentoring, and practical face‑to‑face application.
