Conference preview for the ACSM annual meeting

May 28 – June 1, 2019

Orlando, Florida

American College of Sports Medicine’s (ACSM) Annual Meeting has a longstanding tradition of bringing together a global audience from all disciplines of sports medicine. More than 5,800 attendees are expected to attend, including exercise physiologists, sports medicine professionals, sports dietitians, physicians, educators and students. They will gain cutting edge knowledge though a variety of educational sessions, including posters, free communications, thematic posters, 1-hour tutorials, 4-hour symposia, featured speakers, named lectures, clinical workshops, and exhibits.

The program offers 15 tracts, with Nutrition and Metabolism being of prime interest to the sports nutrition professionals who attend. There are always several concurrent sessions that compete for your time, and hundreds of poster presentations that showcase the latest research results. Special interest groups meet at night, with the Nutrition Interest Group meeting on Thursday evening. No one gets bored at ACSM!

The Nutrition Interest Group has cash awards available for undergraduate, masters or doctoral students presenting at the upcoming conference (click here for more information).

ACSM is a popular conference for PINES members. PINES offers a 10-Questions, 10-Experts session that highlights a popular sports nutrition topic.  The PINES reception is a friendly and welcoming event, where members can network and socialize. Many PINES members attend the nutrition pre-conferences that are held on Tuesday, with opening session for the ACSM Annual Meeting being on Wednesday.

We hope to see you there!
