IOC Diploma scholarship

PINES and Sportsoracle are pleased to announce the allocation of two scholarships to assist PINES members to complete the 2-year IOC Diploma in Sport Nutrition, commencing 2023. These scholarships are awarded annually, based on the application of successful candidates. The scholarships provide for a 50% reduction in fees over the two years of study. Preference for the scholarships will be for applicants from countries where there may be less opportunity to accessing formal education opportunities in sports nutrition.

Applicant eligibility
  1. Applicants must have applied for and been offered a place in the IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition.
  2. Applicants must be a current financial member of PINES.
    Note: Whilst studying the Diploma, applicants are eligible for PINES Student Membership.
Terms of offer

(applicable to scholarship awardees)

  1. The awardee is required to meet the remaining 50% of the course fees each year. The scholarship provides for 50% payment towards the first and second year fees.
  1. The awardee must start the Diploma course when it commences in the upcoming February.
  1. The scholarship award cannot be deferred or postponed unless exceptional circumstance apply.
  2. Failure to complete the required course work will result in the cancelation of the scholarship.
  3. The scholarship cannot be transferred to another individual.
  4. Should the awardee fail the course (either the first or second year) they will not be eligible for future consideration for this Scholarship for a period of 3 years.
  5. The withdrawal or deferment policy is under the IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition requirements as set in the handbook on the Sportsoracle website. Any deferment or withdrawal must be communicated to both admin@sportsoracle.com and info@pinesnutrition.org as soon as possible.
  6. The awardee will:
    1. Remain a member of PINES for the duration of the scholarship.  Note: Whilst studying for the Diploma, applicants are eligible for PINES Student Membership.
    2. Provide a photograph and biography (approx. 150 words) for publishing on the PINES website.
    3. Agree to publish in the PINES E-NEWS their response to the application question.
    4. Engage with PINES in a volunteer capacity for the duration of their diploma.
    5. The awardee is required to write a short article for the PINES website within 12 months of the scholarship being awarded (topic to be negotiated).
