Member Profile: Karen Chia-Lun Lee

Karen Chia-Lun Lee is an Exercise Physiology and Fitness Training Program Director at the National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU). Karen is a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer and Yoga Instructor through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and also is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and European College of Sports Science (ECSS). She completed her Master of Science at the National Taiwan Normal University (2003-2005) and she received her PhD in Exercise Physiology from the National Taiwan Sport University (2005-2008). Areas of research focus on strength and conditioning, sports nutrition of youth and adult athletes, sports performance, functional fitness of older adults, and supporting the athlete-testing and training program. Karen is the author of book chapters translated into Chinese and over 30 scientific papers. Karen now spends most of her time supervising students in the physical education area and consulting to a number of local and national sporting organizations. Her research in sports nutrition and conditioning development has been published in journals including Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, Journal of Sports Sciences, European Journal of Applied Physiology, and the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
